Monday morning started at around 4 AM and about an hour later saw me in the office sneaking one of these amazing cinnamon rolls that are made by one of our neighbors that has a farm stand that sells fattening goodies mostly made of sourdough on the weekends!
The Freightshaker is currently out of action with some engine problems-I will probably have more than I’d like to share on those repairs in a bit. 💰 💰 🙄
But the show must go on, and we have a couple of small jobs scheduled over the next several weeks that still need attended to. One of our other service trucks that is our back up truck-‘Ol Yeller-is also down with injection pump issues.
So that leaves us with what you see below.
You are all familiar with Denise‘s F – 350, but you may be haven’t seen this old disreputable looking second GEN Dodge. It looks terrible with its peeling paint, broken bug deflector, and sagging headliner-but it’s actually a way more awesome truck than it appears to be. It’s a bone stock, unmolested Cummins that has had only had one other owner ( my parents) and currently has just a tick over 28k on the clock. And except for the headliner, the interior is in perfect condition-no cracked dash no torn Upolhstery. It almost looks brand new. This truck runs 85 miles an hour down the highway smooth and quiet as a sewing machine. It’s a joy to drive.
Anyway, we pressed it into service as a parts hauling truck to go do a job in Kingman on Monday.
The job in Kingman is at a car wash that we have been doing work for for many many years. This job immediately turned south and had us chipping up concrete that wasn’t even a part of the job to begin with. We were immediately missing the presence of the extra large freight shaker service truck that has every tool that we need on it.
But, we managed to make do with what tools we had grabbed and drug with us.
Today’s Main job was threading a bunch of three-quarter inch pipe for airlines.
Despite having gotten up at 4 AM, the job lasted until well into the night and we weren’t home until sometime after eight. Here Denise is showing her pleasure at working long hours after dark.😄😄
After a long days work-here are the two trucks all packed up and ready to roll home.
