“A friend in need, is a pain in the ass indeed.” Or something like that.

It’s probably something @wash11 and I mutter under our breath about each other half-jokingly pretty often. 😄😄
The truth is, our two households depend on each other, and we take comfort in the fact that no matter the task, if we need help with something, there’s zero doubt that we’re here to help each other out.
This time around, Joel and Amy needed a part made for the French doors on their house, as the part that had broken wasn’t available anywhere, and it was vital to keeping the doors closed.
Fortunately for me, it was barely a one beer job, but I got to charge Joel three beers for it. 😄😄
I squeezed it in between office work.

Here’s the busted up plastic striker plate from the door getting measured.

Here’s the replacement part all drawn up.

Here’s the little sucker getting cut out.

Now, that could be, probably SHOULD be, the end of the story here, but it’s not.
See, I’m sorta a funny guy.
I like to do things sometimes just because they amuse me.
And here with this part, I thought, heyyyyy… could I engrave a Stick Chicken on that little part?
Seeing as I could charge Joel an extra beer if I could, I decided to give it a shot. 😄😄
Also, I was curious if the machine could actually do detail that small.

And so-Walahhh!! Just like that, there was a tiny Stick Chicken on the part, and I was getting more beer!🍻 😄

To give you an idea how small the engraving actually is, here it is next to my finger.

And here it is installed.
Easiest three beers I’ve ever made!
