Monday saw us leaving a bit later in the day than we would have liked due to some work that had to happen at the shop first.
The sky was lowering clouds and threatening rain as we left our home turf and pointed east towards Flagstaff.
We dodged major rain storms the whole way there, getting scattered showers most of the way.

The storm finally caught us as we rolled into downtown Flagstaff to pick up parts-and it was a real gully washer, with lightning all over and thunder rolling frequently.

The storm reduced to just sprinkles long enough for us to load a few parts and then head to the nearest Safeway to reprovision for the week…

Safeways order pickup service-“What space are you in?”
Us-“All of them. “😄😄
This scenario is even funnier when we have a trailer with us.
The grocery store online ordering and delivery to the truck are an amazing time saver for us. We are typically in and out in under 10 minutes.

We arrived at the job site at the same time as the storm, and this time it unleashed its full fury on us, as if it was pissed we’d mostly evaded it all day.
The rain came down in gusty buckets, rocking the work trailer we took refuge in. Thunder was a constant cannonade of sound so loud the trailer and adjacent buildings resonated and vibrated like some violent huge drum set.
We rested and did office work in the trailer as the storm spent its anger outside.
Around 5 pm the storm was finally exhausted, and we ventured out to a soggy job site full of puddles.

Thankfully our trenches held with minimal damage or erosion and just a few small puddles.

We spent the rest of the evening double checking all the measurements on our conduit racks and building the final rack.
As darkness closed in, we wrapped up, ready for tomorrow and conduit installation.
